Results from the 2012 Event?

Wonderful, Fantastic and just too much fun to fit into 12 hours.

We held the 2012 event in an empty store front, right next to Ever After Scrapbook Store...thank you John and Camille Akin for helping us obtain the facility for one more year...you guys Rock!

Thank you John and Camille for everything!
We stapled material on the walls to cover the mess from the previous tenant, strung electrical cords around door jams to get lights into the bathrooms, scrubbed, and scrubbed and scrubbed to clean it up...but the most important thing the team did for this event was to pray for the unborn babies. After all, that's what this whole event is all about.

Of all days for it to rain and pour, this was one of those days, and for the 12 hours we were there...it just didn't let up much at all.  However, we were blessed to have some helping hands to carry in the ladies' bags, crafts and sewing machines, so they wouldn't have to carry them from the parking lot in the rain to the front door for check in...thank you Pico, Josh and Dakota!!

But, even though the weather was cold and rainy outside,
the inside of the building was warm with love for life.

Tadia's busy blinging up the lady's shirts...bling, bling baby!

Each participant received a "Crafting for Life"T-shirt and Tadia and Ronnie D. got busy blinging the shirts for a sweet little donation.
Thank you again for your diligence and taking your time away from playing at the event ladies.

Every member on the team worked very hard that day serving, praying and  taking care of the participants.  We were either teaching classes, preparing and serving the food, keeping the facility clean or just sharing the love of the Lord with everyone around us...I just can't explain what a wonderful day it was.

These gals were making photo albums from CD cases for the mom's at PRC.
They were so super cute...and so were the albums!

When you hear the laughter and excitement in the room, and see the women's faces filled with joy, and knowing that they know what this whole day is all about, it just makes all of the preparation so worth while.

These gals were signing up for some classes too! Maybe the blanket class with Tina or the Looming class with Jim?

Joy, Joy, Joy....that's what I'm seeing here. She's got the joy down in her heart..
and a new Grand baby on the way.

Most of the participants brought their own crafts to get caught up on. Some brought card making projects, some brought their sewing machines, some brought their scrap booking projects, and some just came to take the classes the event had to offer.

Our instructors were just fantastic, offering up their entire day to help in the event.

Tina's class was really unique. It's using fleece material and yard to crochet around the edge of the blankets and baby jackets.  This got the ladies really hooked (little play on words there).  Tina will be back for the 2013 event, so if you missed her class in 2012, you won't want to miss it for 2013.  Thank you Tina! What a blessing you have been to this ministry.

Here are just a few of the "families" that  came. to play and serve in 2012.

What makes a family? Well, your "God" related.

In the eyes of the Lord, we are all His children.

It doesn't matter whether we are Mom's and Daughters or Best Friends forever...

Family, what a sweet, sweet blessing.

Over all, even with the rain and all of the hard work involved, the event was a huge success. Our fundraising efforts paid off, the center received some nice items for the babies and their mommies, and the community knows a bit more about this fantastic ministry these men and women serve at the center.  If you want to know more about what they do, please visit their webiste at friendsofprcvista.com

So what's next?  Sign up for the 2013 event!

See you then!

Save the Date - April 20th

Hi everyone!  Has another year gone by already?  Oh my gosh!!! Well, the team is getting busy and planning for the 2013 event...April 20th, so save the date.

We have a lot in store this year, and the blessings have just been in abundance already!

Do you know that April 20th is National look alike day?

What if we have a contest to see which two participants, or hey, what the heck, which group of participants come looking the most alike?

Did you know that April 20th is also National Pineapple Upside Down Cake Day?  Sounds like a yummy item for our menu.

Anyway, we haven't been on the blog for a while, but we're back, and hope you'll be coming back for the 2013 Crafting for Life Event....

The committee and volunteers met last night, and I'll tell ya...this is going to be a great event!

Have you been over to Ever After lately and seen the  precious Make-n-take they're providing?

Well, if you haven't, take a quick sneek-peak...
These have to be about the cutest little trinket boxes I've seen in a long time
and they are also included in the price of the event.
Perfect wrapping for a gift card...huh?
It looks like a precious little jewely box for a special little gift maybe?

We saw the T-shirts last night, and I love, love, love the colors of pink and blue in the design and the cutest little canvas totes are being provided by EA too...how cool is that?  We'll just bling everything up for you if you like~  Bling, bling baby!

So, you like to craft?

Take a look at these cute items we'll be making at the event. Some for the PRC moms, some for their babies and some for you too!

This adorable blanket is made from fleece material and has crochet applied around the edges.  I just met up with Tina who is going to be teaching this at the event.
These precious CD albums are just as cute on the inside as they are on the outside.

And the tiles...oh my gosh ! These are some of the home decor make-n-take items that will be available for you to have as your very own.
Once you learn how to do these, you can make them up as gifts. Virginia and Sue will teaching this and I know the class will be fantastic!

Jim's coming back to teach the looming again, and Marleen will be here for the crochet lessons.

If you haven't sent your registration form in yet, do it soon so you won't miss out.  You can reach us at

Details and Location...Oh so exciting !

Hi everyone!  We are just so very excited to share this information...The location for this year's event will be held at...(and the drum roll please)...1958 Hacienda Drive, Vista, CA.  If you came to last year's event, you know exactly where it is.....it's right next door to Ever After Scrapbooks.  How perfect is that? We have over 9,000 square feet of room to craft, play, dance and eat......Woo Hoo!!

    Come celebrate life - March 17, 2012
    9am - 9pm

Come learn how to knit on a loom, crochet, tile stamp or you can help us assemble baby announcements, sock dolls, photo albums and other cute little items for the center.  If you want to just work on your own craft for the day, like painting, knitting, scrapbooking, jewelry making, quilting...what ever it is, you can certainly do that too!  The day is yours to do what ever you want to.  You could even get that project completed you've been trying to find time at home to work on...OH WOW!!  How about that?

The cost for the entire day is only $60 and it includes all meals and snacks, a free home decor make-n-take, an Event T-shirt, give aways, lots of goodies and the opportunity to take home a lovely gift basket.

You can click on the link above and register securely online, or if you prefer a paper registration, send us an email at craftingforlife@yahoo.com   We'll be happy to put one in the mail to you, or you can stop by   Ever After Scrapbooks at 1954 Hacienda Drive, Vista, CA and register there.

The Pregnancy Resource Center is of course always in need of new baby items for their "Earn while you Learn" program, so if you would like to bring in an item or two with you for their "Baby Boutique", that would be such a blessing to the mommies who are anxiously awaiting their new bundle of joy.

Do you have a baby bottle you've been filling up with change from last year's event?  Oh my, please, don't forget to bring that too! Oh, I know, how about for every baby bottle you bring in filled with donations, you'll receive 5 extra door prize tickets?   Oh, I like that idea!!!! Or maybe more?  Could be....

Online registration will begin this weekend...JANUARY 23rd and will run through MARCH 11th...so don't wait to long and lose your seat.

Stay tuned for more postings and pictures...I can't wait to see what's going to happen next!

Plans in the works for 2012

Hi everyone!
Well, our new committee for the 2012 event is getting ready to meet for our very first time...I'm so excited to see where the Lord will use us all!  With all hopes, the location will be at the same place, and who knows what type of goodies will show up for the silent auction baskets and give aways....they will be wonderful, I'm sure. Jim is coming back to teach the loom knitting, and Marleen will be back for crochet lessons.  If you weren't able to get in on their time slots last year, you won't want to miss it this time around.  And....new excitement?  Check back next month for new ways of registration....online maybe??????
