Everything you wanted to know and more about the 2015 Crafting for Life event

Hello Ladies!

Can you believe it?  OH MY GOSH ! 4 MORE DAYS, JUST 4 MORE DAYS! And the crowd yells (HOORAY)

So, as promised are some very, very, very important information notes you will want to keep and print out.

So, here we go............

Well, we're just a bit more than a few days away, and I must tell you, the committee has been busy, busy, busy working on items, food and classes to keep you just as happy as a baby with a full tummy

I'm not going to make this a super cute little email (although the inner part of me really wants to)..but instead I'm going to give you some information that will make your day of celebrating life with us more enjoyable for you (and your friends around you too!)

Location: QLN Conference Center - Address: 1938 Avenida Del Oro, Oceanside, CA 92056
Parking: Please, please, please if you can, carpool with your BFFs because parking is limited. There are 138 parking spaces at QLN for us, of which 4 are handicapped parking in the front and 2 are in the back. We suggest you park in the BACK of the building, because that is where you will be entering in from. If parking is full up when you get here, there is additional parking on the side streets, and at the Gymnastic Coastal Academy on the corner. The Kingdom Hall next door is allowing us to use the parking in back of the building, and around the perimeters. After 5pm, we can use the front parking lot. Please be considerate of their request. There are 160 parking places at the Career Center across Avenida Del Oro that we can use (it's down the hill), and there is Albertson's parking lot. You may not park in the Fire Department parking lot or on the streets. Watch for the signs and the mobile RV unit.
Check in and Celebration- we are opening the doors at 8:30 so you can get settled in, sign up for classes, look at the make-n-takes, grab some breakfast and get ready to have a wonderful day.   Celebration begins at 9:00am and classes start at 9:30
Classes and Make-n-takes: All of these crafts are offered to you at no additional cost, even though some of them would be in the range of $25-$45 to take if you were pay to take them at your local scrapbook or craft location.  Attached is the list and time schedules for your assistance. The classes are a first-sign up, first-get and you may only sign up for one seat...yours.  Most of the classes are being offered more than once during the day. No class has more than 25 seats available at one time. Classes generally last between 1-3 hours. The make-n-takes will be offered all day long, or until quantities run out. These are not a sign-up class. These are a first-come, first-make. Make-n-takes are quick little goodies that take only about 15 minutes to make.

What to bring? Not the kitchen sink...because you will not be doing dishes at all. In other words, please only bring what you can make in 12 hours...yea, right. You might want to bring a jacket or sweater in case you get chilly, and perhaps a cushion for the chair, if you need extra "stuffing". We will have helpers to assist you bring your items in. If you will be participating in the classes or make-n-takes, please bring the following items if you have them: Tape Runner, Liquid Glue (Beacons or Scotch work well), Pop dots or Dimensionals, Bone folder, Scissors.

Food, food and more food: There will be plenty of food and snacks for the day, including water, coffee, tea, flavored drinks, etc., however, we will not have soda, so if you need this to get your "crafting" on...please BYOS (bring your own soda.) No alcohol please.

Door prizes, Raffels and Silent Auction items: Everyone...and I say EVERYONE gets door prize tickets...and believe me, we've got TONS of goodies to give away. On your door prize tickets, you will need to write your name and table number on them...so...if you have any mail labels with your name pre-printed on them..bring 'em along. It'll save you some writing!  And..how many door prize tickets do you get? Well, you get 20 just for coming, and oh yes..also, if you bring goodies for the Baby Boutique, you get 10 more door prize tickets too!  How can you get MORE?  Don't forget to bring in your outside donations!!  You will get 30 more (yes we know we said 20, but hey!! what's 10 more between friends?)  Our fantastic emcee will be passing them out all day long too! Although we do try to spoil you and give you lots of goodies...remember, this is a FUNdraising event. 

There are some fantastic Silent Auction baskets and Opportunity baskets too. These are baskets that you can either purchase tickets and have the opportunity to walk home with one or two or twenty (depending on how many tickets you purchase) or if you like the Auction part of the event..you can always outbid one of your buddies on a Retreat ticket, or a set of Moonlight Amphitheatre Tickets and a dinner..lots of cool stuff on the tables this year. Cash, Check and Credit cards will be accepted for these items.

Do ya like my hat? We will be having a hat contest...Ya got a fancy hat? Maybe a designer hat? Maybe a hat with flowers, feathers, bling and everything too? Maybe just your very most favorite, comfy hat? Well then, if ya got a bonnet, put some stuff upon it and come join in the Parade !

Card Swap:  If you are participating in the Card Swap, please bring 10 identical cards with you, and put them in a plastic ziplock bag, with YOUR NAME on the outside of the bag.  We will collect them after the morning sessions, and you can pick them up from the registration tables on your way out. If you have envelopes for your cards, that would be nice, but if not, that's okay too. It's all about sharing talents and having fun.

BFF Photos: We will be having a photo booth, so you and your BFF can have your picture taken. These are sure to be an awesome keepsake for you gals.  Virginia and Sue have some really cute props..so bring your smile and don't delay.

OUTSIDE SPONSOR DONATIONS!! They say to leave the most important thing for last! Don't forget to bring in your outside donations. We will be able to verify all donations given through the ministrysync website, but bring a list..just incase the system goofed up. 

We have some lovely gifts that we will be giving to the persons (top 3 to be exact) bringing in the most $ in donations...you're gonna love it!
Remember....it's not just a day of crafts and play...it's a LIFE saving event!

Get yourself a bonnet....

Did you know that April 25th is National Red Hat Society Day?  Well, yes it is...and so to further our fun and celebrate life...we will be having a "Bonnet Parade" and hat decorating contest...so, 

 GET YOURSELF A BONNET, AND PUT SOME STUFF UPON IT AND COME JOIN THE PARADE!

Only 2 1/2 weeks left until the big day, so don't wait to sign up...seating is limited.

Classes, Classes and just more fun!

It's been a while since we've posted...and we're so sorry about that. We've just been so busy getting kits, give aways and so many other things ready, time just got away from us...can you believe it, only 6 more weeks?  6 more weeks!!  Woo Hoo!!
Here are some of the classes being offered along with a few of the make and takes.  Now you know you won't be able to do them all...because there will be 6 classes running along with the make and takes, and of course you will be bringing every bit of craft products in your house that you're just sure you're gonna get acomplished and finished....yea right!
But here are some, and we promise we'll keep this blog updated more frequently, since we're getting closer...enjoy the photos. 

Fancy Folds - Have you ever wanted to learn how to do the Origami Fancy Folds?
Lorelei Winn will teach you how in this class.

Fruit of the Spirit Banner...

This class will be taught by Kathy Durr- We all need to have a helping from this Banner.

Home Decor Burlap Wreath-These are just so cute to hang in any room.
This class will be taught by Stephanie Bowling.

Maya Road Scallop Ribbon- This makes the most beautiful book mark - a fun Make and Take that will be available during the event....just love, love, love it!

Community Fundraising and Support for the Pregnancy Resource Center

Everyone loves babies, and the Pit Stop in Oceanside is right there with us!

On February 25th, the Pit Stop is donating 15% of your pre-taxed order to the Center ! How cool is that?   So, take a copy of this flyer or just stop in on the 25th and let them know that you're a friend of the Pregnancy Resource Center in Vista, and grab some good food and help save a life.

Registration and FUNdraising-Don't let it scare you

You know you want to come to the event...but what is all of this fundraising about?
Please know, you don't have to do any fundraising...AT ALL, but...if there is any little voice inside your heart wanting to know how much more you can help the center, then listen to this:
When you sign up for the Crafting for Life event this year, you will have the opportunity to have your very own fundraising page~ now mind you, you don't have to use it, but imagine how many babies you can help save with just a simple email sent to your friends asking them to make a donation in your name. There's no face-to-face asking (because some of us are just plain shy), but a little note on your facebook page, and or an email..well, how easy is that?
Now then...the top 3 ladies who raise the most funds for the Pregnancy Resource Center will receive a most wonderful "Thank You" gift from the event for helping us Invest in LIFE.  But what is really the best gift you will receive? Knowing in your heart you have helped save another baby and mommy.

Registrations Now Open!

Hello all of you Lovers of Life! The 2015 Crafting for Life registration is now open. If you were with us for the 2014 event, you know just how wonderful the location was..well, we will be back again at the QLN Conference Center in Oceanside. Wow!! How much space and awesomeness did we have? Lots and Lots and Lots! Tons of room for the table groups set up, food, entertainment and so much more. Don't delay in purchasing your discount tickets either! Now thru December 31, 2014 the tickets are $5 off the regular price. Will there be extra door prize tickets for the first table to fill completely up?? You Bet! So grab your pals and gals and reserve your seat before they're all gone.

Summary of 2014 Event

Thank you,thank you, and thank you again. It's been a long time since we've updated the blog, but you know how fast time goes by. We want to thank each and every participant who came, donated and prayed for the success of the 2014 event. It was the BEST ONE YET!! We were able to raise almost $18,000 for our little Pregnancy Resource Center of Vista. There were about 200 people, the food was fantastic and there was so much joy and laughter in the room, you would have thought we were having a celebration--oh wait! We did! A celebration of life. We had a bonnet contest...and some of the gals got really creative - um...to say the least-ha! So many sponsors provided assistance and support, we couldn't possibly list them all on the blog, so we actually published a program for the day, with the sponsors, schedule of events and a complete overview of what we thought the day would bring...but God knew more (as always). He knew it would be the best one yet and help save babies and mommies.....that's what this whole thing is all about. LIFE, and how very precious it is. It's been a while since we've update the blog, just because we've had so many new and exciting things going on. We're lining up the classes and the make-n-takes, and of course, they are all included in the price of the event, which is only $50. $50! That's for breakfast, lunch, dinner, craft classes, make-n-takes, door prizes, and just too much fun celebrating life! If you haven't signed up yet, don't delay. We're 1/2 full now, and we can't save any seats. Our sponsors are filling up our door prize give buckets and there will be just lots and lots of give away items too. Opportunity baskets and silent auction baskets will be chucked full of goodies everyone will want to bid on, so make sure you bring some extra cash for a donation on these items. We will be printing a Program for the event this year and each participant will receive one. In the program, we are offering the top 3 levels of sponsorship the opportunity to display their logos and show their support. For financial donations or products, the levels of sponsorship are: $750 and up - Platnum sponsor for a full page, $500 - $749 - Gold sponsor for a half-page, $250 - $499 - Silver sponsor for a quarter-page. Welcome 2014 and good by 2013!

Who's gonna be the grand "More than 50/50 Team" fundraiser for 2014?  Is it gonna be you?  Last year's 1st place went to Gloria Stengel with a total collected of $1,000. Contact your friends and family and tell them you are participating in a "Crafting Marathon" and have made the commitment to raise more than $50, because each new life deserves more than just a 50/50 chance.
When you sign up, we will send you a letter you can copy and send out to everyone you know. It's so easy and it will make your little heart feel so good.

Location?  QLN Conference Center in Oceanside, 1938 Avenida del Oro.  What does this mean?  This means 10,500 square feet of room for crafting, eating, dancing and what ever else may come along during our 12 hours of celebrating.

Oh say...we want your suggestions on how we can improve the 2014 event.

One idea we've come up with is to give you the option of reserving either just your seat...or a group of seats for you and your friends, and we could set your tables up all together!  How about that?  That way, you'd for sure all be sitting together.

Another Successful Event!

We just want to thank all of our sponsors, and everyone who attended and served at the event this year.

The location was great!  Calvary Chapel Oceanside's Cafe was just right!  That's where we held the main event, the teachings were upstairs, we had an awesome sound system and the lighting was just right.  A little bit of trouble with the height of the chairs to the tables, but we'll get that fixed for next year...promise!

There was joyful laughter, celebration of life, and even some tears when the videos and testimonies touched our hearts.

The Mobile RV Unit was there for the ladies to see and take a tour of.  This center not only saves lives at the location, but also on the road!  Praise the Lord!!

Everyone who attended had a great time, the teachings were awesome and the food?  Well, there's no words to describe the food except FANTASTIC!! 

With your help, we were able to raise over $12,000 for the Center.  Although it may not seem like a lot of money, compaired to so many other fundraising events,  we know that every penny donated will help save another baby's life.   We apologize for not having enough room to list all of our sponsors, but you know who you are, and so does our Lord....  Thank you again!
